To add some controversy to the Baja 1000 Results and "King of the Hill"
There are 3 quads entered in the Experimental class "Quads"
A banshee is placed in 42nd and has completed all the stages.
A Raptor is next in 75th and has not completed any stages beyond 11.
And finally a DS is in 120th and has not completed any stages past 6.
It seems that the tried and true is leading them all.

Last year, a french guy finished the Paris Dakar on his Warrior...Yamaha Power!!
It's way tougher than a Baja. 2 weeks long (something like that), fesh fesh sand...it's like riding glamis all day long (12-14h a day, even more on the hard days) with a 800 lbs quad (you have to carry tons of stock (fuel, water, tools...) and no paddles tires since the day after, you have to go through a straigh rocky section. I have seen the machines (cars, trucks, bikes...but not the quads) something like 5 years ago...it's really wild how monstruous those mahcines are!!
I miss the daily reportage on the day stage on TV.
