I recently replaced my battery in my yfz because i left my switch on and it went dead and would not re charge. Now when i ride it i have to ride with the lights on or it will hit the rev limiter immediately with the lights turned off. What could be causing this problem? thanks

 

Stator. They were known to have problems with the stator and running with lights on was the fix.

Also, I have a prob with mine cutting out when I really get on it. It's not the rev limiter. It cuts out then takes off again where rev limiter just keeps cutting it off because it's reving out. Does your do that by chance or are you sure it's the rev limiter? Maybe, the stator is my prob too your the first I've seen with a similar issue. the lights don't change my prob tho : (

 

i'm positive mine is the rev limiter. yours could be the spark plug mine done that one time and it was the plug.

 

Ya, I changed the plug and it helped quite a bit but, it still does it from time to time.

 

what year is your yfz. i am thinkin about buyin a new 07 but i want to make sure there is no problems that come with the yfz
