You seem to be delusional about a few things. First the Raptor (non-calif) only puts down 36-37hp on a good day. Stock Banshee's (is there such a thing?) are very close to that. Most modified banshees substantially exceed that. I don't think you want to run up against a truly modified EX, a 400EX with a pipe, piston, and cam can easily exceed that if done right - GT Thunder's version CT Racing's version, I could dig out Sparks racing version if you like. I won't go into the handling or power-delivery details...

Stock Raptors, while being a very nice bike, are not what many of you are making them out to be & I think that's the whole idea here many of you seem to be missing.

Did he build your quad, what did ge do to it, and if he built your quad then he should be able to tune the carbs on his own quad. That seems pretty obvious.

And I'll raise the bidding to $2300 for the quad that he doesn't want.

Why do all of you people have to be so stupid like this. Good god I hope your kids and not adults. Give the man some credit, he's going out on a limb here telling us what he deostn like about his machine. I mean he is the first person to do this since this raptor came out. Not EVERYONE thinks it is the best machine ever. I also notice that all of the people being stupid about this own raptors. I think you all should go ride some other machiens and do some comparison yourself. The raptor is NOT the best quad ever built like they said it would be. The best quad bu ilt does not break and crack and blow off carbs. The best machine goes on the track, wins races and keeps on winning (like the 250r). The bombadier ds650 has to be the best quad for that price. It comes stock ready to "beat" or race. Aarms and axle are strong and durable. Now you can all come on and say "300exster shut your mouth" and go right ahead, i'm just posting my opinion. Just as "i hate my raptor" is just posting his opinion. You dont all have to rip our heads off for it. And if you want to argue about "durability between the raptor and ds then go right ahead, i gues i'm up for an argument.

Looks like you just learned the hard and expensive way not to trust the mags.
If you wanted to be king of the hill, you should have got a shee, a quadzilla or a 500CR (or KX) powered quad. Not a performing trail machine...because that's what the Raptor is : a sport trail machine. It's not a duner, it's not drag racer, and it's no motocrosser. Of course, it performs fairly well (enough for most riders) in all of these different categories, but it's pure nonsense to spend big bucks on a Raptor to reach the top of the hill first. I also think hat with such a big engine, the Raptor is too small. You can't put a huge torque engine in an undersized frame, of course the front end says hello to the sky...and yamaha admitted to need to detune the engine to avvoid monster understeer.
Also, to all the ones who said that the Raptor brought something new to the quad world...uuh, what in the Raptor is a revolution compared to other quads? Nothing, strictly nothing. A 10 year old engine, in a standard steel frame, standard shocks...nothing more than a shee (just to name the oldest still produced sports quad). Yes the geometry has been modified...but I consider this the minimum after 15 years!!! You wanna talk about high-tech? Go to Cannondale.com THIS is new, modern, revolutionary. The Raptor isn't. I am still waiting for a stock quad with horizontal shocks (F1 like), with negative travel, and why not, as much electronic as dirtbikes have (throttle position sensor, diferent timings, harshness of the rear shock modified under acceleration...and why not an IRS sports quad with active suspension?).
I'll get busted for this, but, to say liek someone did some time ago, to me, the Raptor is a rip off...considering that I don't like the styling (this is personal)...you get my point. Long life my shee (can't figure anything to replace it...maybe I'll make my own quad, big bore powered with all the possible stuff mentioned above).
Again, Ihatemyraptor, if your goal was to drag race, then you got fooled.

ok, time to throw my hat in the ring..... 1st Ihatemyraptor you should sell it if you don't like it, they are still hard to find so you shouldn't lose too much cash on the deal. Also, change your screen name to CRYINLITTLEBITCH. 2nd, Mhargrove, I drove a modified 400ex before I made up my mind on which quad to buy and guess what????? RAPTOR ALL THE WAY.

enough mods to beat a 400ex with 4 flat tires.

Yup, hatemyraptor should know all the quads have different strengths, and I don't think a raptor will take a bansh in the dunes. But is does have reverse lol? you could win some "backwards" races. I personally think the raptor styling is cool but will be vulnerable to trees. Anyone with a straight edge and pencil could design a banshee.
I'll raise the bidding to $2500$

Ive never seen the induction, but the first thing I'd consider is a 2 into 1 manifold and a single large flat slide carb. You may lose some response, but jetting shouldn't be that difficult

That would be my first modification if I were to own a Raptor.

It should actually increase throttle response as the stock Raptor uses CV carbs (like some low performance utility quads), in which you don't really have a direct connection to the throttle. Personally I think feeding 1 valve with a carb and feeding 2 valves with another carb is just asking for carb troubles.

Switching to a single Keihin Flat CR would certainly fix the Raptor's power delivery problems, increase throttle response tremendously, increase ease of tuning, and probably increase HP.

The only problem with this equasion is, the Raptor's chassis can't handle the power it has. Plan on an extended swingarm, axle, and shocks as mandatory items if you plan on doing anything more than mild trailriding or an occasional drag race.
