WASHING AN ATV?
#12
Washing with the engine is off is fine. Don't spray cold water on a hot engine - duuuh. Don't squirt water in the muffler - duuuh. Armour-All works great, but yeah TAKE THE SEAT OFF WHILE APPLYING ARMOUR-ALL and I don't coat my exhaust with Armour-All either. (Just burns off and stinks) Just give the plastics a good coat and don't wipe it off. Let it dry on there and it will shine like a new penny (until the 1st 5 minutes of the next ride).

I too agree about letting her cool down but what about these guys who run into rivers and mud holes clear up to there handlebars. They sure never let them cool. I've seen steam come off them so much you cant even see the rider. When i power wash I always put the plug into the exhaust.

I've heard pledge works better on plastic</end quote></div>
Funny! I've used Pledge on my shower walls to keep soap scum from collecting/forming, for years and years. Never thought about using it on my 4 wheelers.
Thanks

I did the WD 40 thing to my girls warrior. However some had gotten on the exhaust and she said it smells like french toast while its running. Thought this was funny and decided to share with you all!</end quote></div>
Be careful with the WD 40. It can eat up rubber hoses and seals.

Use CRC lube it is safe for rubber and keeps the metal nice and fresh...

It's not good to dip a hot engine into a cold river, but sometimes you just gotta!
