My air fuel mixture screw was about 3 1/2 turns out, brought it back then out 2 turns and ran good. Put the outwers lid opening on today and it ran even better. So Its all good, now if it will dry up a little I can go riding and really see, I think the nieghbors are tired of me doin hotlaps around the block...... that's crazy that yours runs good at aboutthe same setting as mine. I have no idea what altitude I'm at though. how much of a difference was there with the outwear lid? I still may get one as there are a couple of places that I ride where's there no deep water.

Over a open air box lid, it just seemed crisper and a tad more responsive, nothing to just completely right home about, but definately better than a stock setup.
I've been thinking about it, and talked to a buddy and the only reason we can come up with that it does better than just a open air box is that it creates a funnel since it's pulling from right behind the gas tank and at the top of the air box. Not really sure though, just a thought. I've been sceptical about putting it on, but where i ride there are always creek crossings so I decided to try it out, as long as I take it easy through them I should be ok, or if i don't have some jackass come flying by in the creek, waking the water into my airbox. Which I have had happen. So I think the outerwear may help a little with that too, dunno.

mfglideman, are you above sea level for this jet you are requesting us to use. I live in IL so should I use the 150 or the 148? I got my jet kit in today and it is a dynojet.

I need some HELP with this one!! I put a FMF PowerCore 4 Slip on with a dyno jet kit, and a new spark plug. I first tryed it with a 148 jet and the clip on the fourth notch, and the air/fuel mix out 2.5 turns as the dyno jet stated. My problem is when I run the machine hard to 3rd or 4th gear and turn it off, my spark plug is dry as a bone. I then tryed it with a 150jet and the clip on the fifth notch with 2.25 air/fuel mix out, the spark plug was still really dry. I also though it would be the air/fuel mixing screw was bad, but when you turn it, I can hear the spring set. Also when I just rev the machine in neutral hard, the spark plug is very dry as well. The machine has unbelieveable power in this setup but I don't want to damage the engine. I have not really ripped on it yet because of the area I live next to. Am I checking the plug wrong? . I was talking with a friend and he told me that I would need to find out how to make it more rich before riding on it all day, because I could blow the enigne. He state I would rather blow a plug being rich then blowing the pistons being to lean. Can anyone help with this???

I believe the engine is too hot and lean. The reason being is that when you are in netural you rev the engine with full throttle the machine dies out quickly unstead of winding up, And when I pull the plug I believe it should be wet and black, and the spark plug is dry with black around the base of the Electrode with white ash on the top of the Electrode. The machine revs up when you punch it 2-3 times on the throttle. I have been trying everything to just get it primed out so that I can work back to lean and nothing seems to work.. Can ya help
