Wolverine lifts
#1
I am looking at possibly putting one of the 2" lift kits on the Wolverine for added ground clearance and to help with the stance when the 26's go on.
What are peoples opinions of running these kits? I realize that it will shorten the life of the CV joints because of the increased drive angle, but how badly?! Are they worth it, or just stick with stock height and the bigger tires?
If you have installed and run one, would you do it again?
Thanks for any advice,
Pat

Yeah, it has 25's on it right now, and it looks like the 26's will clear ok. I was more looking at them for the taller stance and "cool factor" haha
I was just looking to see what people thought about the kits, if they ran them.

i can't help you there friday. i know on mine i wish i had a little more clearance but you get the clearance from the Tires not the lift. so if you can clear them with out a lift kit i would go with that. the only thing you're doing by putting a lift kit is making it look bigger for the "COOL FACTOR" but at the same time you're changeing the center of gravity possibly causing it to be more top heavy and also putting more strain on your components. thats just my .02 cents. take it of leave it

you dont need a lift to fit 26s my 25 sur-traks fit on stock rims without anything close to an issue. a better investment is some wheel spacers. I have 1.5" billet wheel spacers on mine gives a much better stance and more stability for cornering, especially with a 2 or 3 inch increase in height from the bigger tires.
heres my 01 wolvy on the 25s, mods are listed in Sig
