It sounds like the slide may not be all the way in, make sure the needle is down in the nozzle hole. This is a mistake done by alot, including me once.

well what was wrong with the throttle? im sure the guys who helped you with suggestions would like to know if the information they gave you helped the repair in any way. just my 2 cents.
