Some of you guys have bad luck with carbs, all my toys had carbs and it was the only thing I never had to touch on them. Our 97 Sportsman has 7000 miles without the carb being fooled with and my 500 Ski-Doo sled (duel carbs) has 8000 miles and I could not tell you what kind of carbs there are (Mikuni or Kleihin) because I never paid attention to them.

The main reason I bought the Big Bear 4x4 was that the basic design hasn't changed since the 80's, and I value reliability and ruggedness over flash and speed.

However, it all boils down to individual tastes, and I have to think that there is a demand for all of the bells and whistles out there or the mfrs would produce the product.

Oops! I meant to say "wouldn't" produce the product.

I don't think anyone wants to go that far back in technology. Somethings were a definite improvement over the previous. Ignition systems were one of them.

But remember when electronic ignition first came out? It too was one of those new fangled things that cost more to fix or replace.
