Well you can order the frame from BIKEBANDIT.COM FOR $645.82 And the rear sub frame for $311.17 and bike bandit is 100% trustable they are great people to deal with. The lower arm is $44.74 GREAT PRICES CHEAP SHIPPING TOO.. CHECK EM OUT AND GOOD LUCK!!!</end quote></div>

Thanks for the info and I probably don't need a rear sub frame.

BIKEBANDIT says that frames exceed FedEx's maximum allowable dimensions for shipping so they don't sell frames that have to be shipped.

So I guess I'm SOL going that route.

Default Bad situation for my Kodiak 450

So I found a frame locally that's probably more $ than some of the aftermarket suppliers, but it's here. Most suppliers wouldn't ship a frame to me.

I was going to do it myself but right now work is way too crazy and I have a really good relationship with the service manager at my local dealer. She (yes I said "she") said a full frame change is pegged at 13.5 hrs max. and if it's less she will charge me the actual. Also I want to ride and not just have my quad sitting around. I saw the frame and I can see that it's bent. I really take care of my stuff and I don't want to ride around on a piece of junk.

I have to bring my 450 baby back to where she was before my lack of concentration moment caused the major problem I am experiencing due to the crash. The other problem I faced with doing it myself was the "approved repair shop" issue with insurance if I ever want to get collision insurance, which I am considering.

I am also considering alloy rims since I can almost get two for the price of one Yamaha factory steel rim.

Make sure the shop removes the old VIN from the bent frame and documents the frame replacement in writing. Transferring VIN #'s CAN be a pain in the $%!%. so make sure you do it right. Talk with your insurance agent and get everything in writing from them.

Good Luck

Thanks!

There are forms that I need to fill out for the insurance company to document the new VIN. The dealership said they will get me the forms and have everything documented.

Default UPDATE-Bad situation for my Kodiak 450

My 450 is sporting a new frame, lower control arm, ball joint and bearings after the crash. Now that I actually see the frame standing on level ground I can see the amount of bend it has in two planes.

The only good thing that came out of this is the new ITP rims that I bought instead of one new Yamaha steel rim.

I now have to take the old frame to the insurance brokers and they will issue a sticker that goes on the new frame with either the orig. S/N or a new one. Then they grind off the S/N from the original frame. Sounds like a pain in the butt to me.

P.S. I now have one front and two rear steel rims in exc. condition for sale.

Our local dealership did the work and if it wasn't for Purolator losing the frame it would of took a week. But it took two weeks. They list 13 hours for a full frame change.
