I want to install a clamp on K&N filter into my stock airbox. From what I can tell, Pro-Flo makes an intake adapter kit that comes with a foam filter but not one with a K&N filter. I want to intall a K&N filter but I don't like the way the stock filter just slips into place in the stock air box. I plan to cut holes in the air box and would feel more comfortable with an air filter that is clamped on to the intake. What should I do? Buy the Pro-Flo kit and replace the filter with a universal K&N filter? Does the K&N filter clamp on some how?

Not sure about the warriors airbox, but on my banshee I bolted the stock airfilter frame into the airbox, with some slight mods the K&N slips right on. Not sure if you can do this on your bike, but it would be something to look into!

Pro Design makes a billet mount for the K&N filter. No need to buy the Pro Flow kit. The two filters require slightly different mounts.

Thanks, I believe Pro Design is who makes the Pro-Flo kits. The kit for the Warrior is just an adapter from the intake to the filter and a filter but the filter if a foam filter like the Uni filter. The two filter kits are for the Banshee, I believe. I'm just wondering if anyone who has a K&N on their Warrior can tell me does it bolt on or slip into the stock airbox.

I was under the impression that Pro Design made a billet for the K&N to fit a Warrior as thet do for the Banshee, but after checking I find that not so. I've had the Pro Flow kit on my Warrior for a couple of years and the foam filter flows very well and looks like new. I comes with a foam overwrap but I've never used it even here in Az. I also run a Moto Force clear vented lid.

Thanks,
I was wondering where I could find a vented lid. I guess I'll go with the same set-up. I can probably switch to a K&N later on, if I measure the Pro-Flo intake size.

YOu can just bolt the stock filter frame to the airbox, this gives a good seal.

I have an alluminum billet proflo adapter with k$n for my my 98 Warrior. I had to remove whole airbox to screw it on from the back. It's held steadfast for 2 years now, and I give it hell. I only paid about $90 for billet adaptor and filter.
I also have 6 = 1 inch filters in the airbox lid. I don't know how you guys keep your filter so clean, I have to redo mine about every 2 weeks.

Thanks a bunch, I found everything I need at Moto Force. Good prices too. From what I've seen.

Madwriter,

Did you have to re-jet after cutting holes in your airbox. If so, what size jetting did you go with?
