Grizzy VS Sportman HO (Dirtwheels shoutout)

I've ridden my Grizzly with Raptors, Banshees, and the 400ex on some pretty tight trails and was able to keep up just fine! Although I'll admit it took some work, and I was alittle sore for the next couple of days, but I had a hell of a good time!
I see both of your points as to the 4WD vs 2WD thing. The one point that you have both fail to recognise is that the steering on a full time 4x4 is very unpredictable at high speeds. Having owned one myself(99 Kodiak), I fully understand how the steering can have a mind of its own at times. Having the 2WD option won't make you any faster, but handling is vastly improved, and far more predictable!

Hey Bill, that's why you got rid of your SP, as i recall it broke alot, so now your stuck adjusting chains and sprockets, wow, mud and water must be good on those components, and for water, a stock 400 would suck in water before me, and you don't have a drain plug either. Ok, you'll beet me on take off, but i'd catch up i'm sure. The thing i'd like to know is why would you go from shaft drive to chain drive, especailly one with two seperate chains. You can go 10-15 years on saft without problems, honda and yamaha anyway, and work it harder too.
You must just play, that's cool too though. I bet you don't float though.

Yam8, Do your homework. The older Xplorers have 3 chains, not 2. Mine is on the original chains and I have done my share of mudding and all kinds of terrain. The newer models all have only one chain and shaft drive up front. I have ridden with a Grizz before and if vibrating, noise and whatever make it a man's machine...you have the right one.

Sportsman-Best performer in mud and snow. But a maintenence, and dependability nightmare.
Rubicon- Its a Honda, what more can you say. Not the best performer, but will last forever.
Grizzly- Not as good a performer as the Sportsman in the mud, but far better in deep water crossings. More powerful than either. Less maintenence than the Polaris, just as well made as the Rubicon.
