You have to be careful when adjusting that shock with pliers, especially the rear, because it is has never been moved it may be seized up pretty well. Hit it with some PB Blaster a night before you plan on doing it and hit it again prior to attempting. I would personally recommend just getting a cheap spanner wrench, as it makes the job very simple and worry free. We have one that is used to adjust the chain on a 300ex and it works great for my shocks as well
