front sprocket on a warrior
#1
i have an 01 warrior and i was thinking on putting a smaller (or larger not really shure which one) front sprocket on my warrior to get more power and i was just wondering how much it would change
like for example 1 tooth gives a huge boost in low end but really cuts top end
^ that is not true but thats the format i would best under stand a response in

warriors already have a pretty low top speed around 55 so if u switched to like a 12 tooth fr sprocket it would do just over 50 prolly but it would be alot snappier and would go through gears alot quicker with more torque, and if you stepped up to a 14 fr sprocket it would prolly do near 60 but it wouldnt be as responsive and wouldnt speed through gears as fast, if i were you id only use a 12 tooth if you ride like 80% in the woods and a 14 if you ride in fields or dunes, im using a 13 tooth which is stock size and i feel that with my mods i should be using a 14 because i would put my power to use a lil more, im always shifting on mine as soon as i punch it its already ready for the next gear and tops out way to fast it feels

the thing is though i still ride a little woods but im starting to ride mor dunes its not all top speed that i care about i only go top a little though but i get burned on all hill climbs i cant even do most of them so i was just wondering how much that would help and how much it would kill me

yea warriors are a little low on power to compete in the dunes, almost every1 has 450s, shee's, or at least 400's and unless your warrior is modded pretty good your not gonna be able to compete, and the warrior weighing over 400lbs doesnt help, lol

You can't get more power by changing sprockets. The engine will always put out the same amount of power. Changing sprockets just changes how the engine puts the power that it does have to the ground.
The stock engine will have a hard time pulling a 14 tooth front sprocket, especially with 22" rear tires.
If you have 22" rear tires and a stock engine a you could go down to a 12 tooth to help on hillclimbs. If you have 20" rear tires and a stock engine the stock 13 tooth would probably be better.
The setup I always liked with a few mods like a pipe, filter, & jet, was 20" rear tires and a 14 tooth front sprocket.
If you add more horsepower to the engine by doing engine mods, you can run a bigger front sprocket, because then you have the power to pull the gearing.
