broke durablue raptor axel
#11
this axel was a eliminator axel.rpm does not have a axel out for the raptor, i called them today, lonestar said their axel was only 3 in. wider than stock,i like the width of the durablue-5 1/2 wider than stock, using the spacers,i called durablue direct and they said as long as i am jumping big that this was going to happen.i want a rpm now or a lone star,i have plus 2 a-arms and the width on the rear is important to me,how do you go plus 4 on a lone star? do they use spacers?i sold my stock axel to cycle pros and they are willing to send me a lonestar or x33for my broke one,how is that for customer service?i need some more info on the lonestar please?

I called Lonestar again and they still insist that their axel is +3 overall. I called Moto Joe and they said it was +4, my dealer is willing to let me get either I choose, Moto Joe has sold 20 Durablue axels for the Raptor, three of which have had to be replaced because of breakage. They have sold 21 lonestars with no complaints. RPM axel is going to be 2 in. in diameter and will require a new carrier and swingarm. It won't be available for months, thanks for all your help, but no one at Lonestar can tell me that it is a +4 axel. I want a Lonestar, I guess I'll just have to sacrafice some width, be it +3 or +4. Any of you ever broke a Lonestar?

Okay I just measured the stock axle it is 28 3/4" from flange to flange (meaning where the hub seats against the axle.) The Lonestar is 30 3/4" without the spacers and 32 3/4" with the spacers. That means it is adjustable from +2 to +4 inches longer. Also it looks like if you took the Lonestar hub nuts off and machined them down 1/2" per side you could make it a +5 axle.
