2002 660 Grizzly starting question, electrical
Been awhile since I have been here, hope everyones doin great.
I have an 02 Grizzly that is hard to start with the starter, you can crank and crank for 10 mins and it will not start. Then grab the pull starter and it will fire right off.
The valves have been adjusted correctly, carb was checked, float was a little high. New battery. Resistance is within range on the stator and it produces what appears to be a fine spark at th plug.
Once it starts with the pull rope and warms up, it will start fine with the electric starter. Could the starter be drawing to much current away from the CDI to start when using the electric starter and I need to rebuild it ?
All connections are also fine.
This bike has been well taken care of, uses a wee bit of oil, been serviced regularly and has around 7000 miles on it.
Any help much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

with that kind of millage a starter problem is deffinately on the table. but it it also possible you have weak battery under load, strong enough to turn over the starter but nothing else. or the regulater/rectifier is not working properly. had a bike once that had same issue, bad battery under load.
good luck
