Get the z400 or for 5-6K you are talking about, you can get a 450 which will give you all the power you need. Forget the 350, it is under powered and not up to snuff with the 400 or 450 class machines.

if you have the $'s go crazy and buy a new Z400 with EFI, peppier and plenty fast enough to keep up with the 450's... until you get board and want a 450 yourself!

if you want to start out with a 400 and work up to the 450, 400 being more of a trail mechine, then buy a used 400. they are pretty cheap since the 450's came out and you will be able to keep steady with the rest of the pack. remember the 450's are completly race ATV's and are sucky for trail rideing IMO.

you can get a good mechine for under 6grand

Get the z but either way z or ex you can't go wrong.The z wants to rev so you can't lug it around,but the ex you can stick it in 1st and idle through rough terrain with ease.

alright thanks guys i really appreciate the information, i'm leaning a little more towards the ex but ii'm going to look at the inventory at the local dealers and see what they have...once again thanks, and i'll let y'all know what i decide on

Well guys, I bought a 2008 YFZ 450 and i appreciate all the help that y'all gave me, if y'all are ever in west texas and want someone to ride with, lemme know

man i wish i could go out and buy a new 450 , im having trouble finding a used 400ex that i can afford
