I run a set of Tag T2 bars in the "quad" bend. They are very similar to the stock Yamaha bars. They aren't as high, but they are a little wider and have about the same pullback. Very comfortable bend for this machine.

nrm660....do you have plenty of clearance comparing the fat bends to the stock bars.

yea because you have to use a universal mount so it raises the bottom of the bars 7/8

Bash, sorry, I held them up to each other and really didn't notice any big differences. I like the Banshee bend though. I am, however, putting some Pro Tapers on soon. I have them, but I don't have the mounts yet.

Well I went with the 400EX Bend Renthals because they had them in stock...... Guess what.... they hit the tank! I took them over to another shop and held them up against the banshee bend, and the banshee bars are wider acrost the base and look like it'd be worse!

Right now it only rubs against the tank on a full lock-to-lock turn, but I have had to angle them way forward.

What is this about a steering stem extension? If I even had 1/4" it'd clear. Should I be looking for one of these?

Blue660R,

I tweaked my steering stem, so I had to do some repairs anyway. Here's what to do.

Take it out and have it cut in two (mine was toward the top). Then have a toolmaker or machinist machine a part to fit in between. The way mine was done was to take a round stock of steel, nubs that fit the insided diameter of the stem were machined into the rod. Then the exposed part was machined to the stock O/D of the steering stem. It was then fitted together and tig welded up. It looks as good or better than new!

It should only take a good machinist a short time to do it, so it shouldn't cost that much if you had ot pay for it (lots cheaper than a $250-300 aftermarket stem).

i tried a set of renthal 400 ex bars on mine and didnt like them.they didnt have enough pull back so i put a set of banshee bend on and they feel pretty close to the stock bars.i think its as close as you can get right now.also the ex bars hit the tank and the banshee just seems to touch.

I read this forum a week ago and decided to order the ATV bend Renthals when I needed them. On Sunday I crashed, so I went shopping on Monday. When I called Rocky Mountain ATV/MC, they said that they just got "Raptor" bend bars in blue and silver. I ordered blue and a set of the progrip 792's (or whatever the pimple ones are numbered). I can't find the bar on any of the internet sites, but I will post the measurements if I get them. (NOTE: Rocky Mountain ref'd the Banshee Bars to the Raptor. I got the Banshee bars and think they are OK. The Renthal ATV Race Bend would probably not hit as they are narrower at the base).

Anyone price plastic yet?
