Default Blaster Gearing.

I just got a TPS Dune port job on my Yamaha Blaster. I also went up to 280. on the main jet. Am i running it lean? Also The dune port job Made a Huge *** power gain both top and lower end. but know i need to alter my gearing.

i've heard 14/40 would make 1st gear long enough to increase the holeshot.

Right now the gears are VERY short for the power it has. It likes to pop up in 5th gear! Hits 60 mph as it it right now but hell. it gets there fast.

But would 14/38 gearing allow me to hit higher top speeds.. Saying 62-68 mph?

i would liek to have good top speed but also good acelleration. but i guess its choosing between the two.

I am 5'8 and 125LB

Blaster has +4 swingarm. +3 Wheel spacers all around. and a yfz 450 rear suspention.

Your guys's advice will be heavily appreciated. My brother is going get me drag racing next month. =D Hella stoked.

i would deff gear it higher, with all that increased power im sure it just chops through gears to fast, higher gearing will let it stay in the power longer.
