Default 03 660 Grizzly loses "memory" on the speedo head/etc.

I've had this quad since new, and it has always lost the hours/clock/milage/etc. memory on the speedo. Every time I turn it on it is back to zero. When I purchased this quad from the dealer, the speedo connector wasn't hooked up, but that wasn't discovered until we were ready to load it on the trailer to leave. (there was no digital readout at all)

A few minutes of scrambling by the mechanics & they discovered that. They connected it, and all seemed fine. We loaded it up for the 3 + hr. ride home and I didn't realize until over the next several days that the memory wouldn't hold.

Everything else worked fine, & since I was really only using this ATV for plowing, pulling a wood trailer & assorted odd jobs, it didn't really bother me that much - or at least it didn't bother me enough to warrant another 6 hrs. of driving...

My question; has anyone else experiences this type of problem with their quad? Any ideas where to look? Hoping for a simple fix, but it is probably not...

Obviously too late for a warranty repair now, but I would like to get it working correctly if it isn't a major hassle/cost.

I think the memory is stored in the Speedo. If you haven't already, check the connecter they "rushed to fix" and make sure it's pushed together completly. Or pull it apart and check that all the connector pins are in good shape. .
Maybe the one for memory power got bent or pushed out of it's socket and is out of reach.

Malachi sounds right on the money, you obviously have the "running" power to keep the display on when you ride, but then when the key is off, you need "memory" power to the cpu to keep all the info while the key is off. As stated above, look for another plug, or make sure the plug they "fixed" is not damaged or plugged incompletely.
