Default i think i hert something

well took out mr rapter 350 today (avoiding the inlaws lol) well tords the end of day i would smell a oil burning smell every time id let it rev .and when i went to load it up i reved it up once and when i let off it let out a puff of whitish smoke i assume its oil as its air cooled . any thoughts on this still runs great just a puff of smoke on ocasion after high rpm decel.

maybe illl luck out and its just cause my crank case breather filter looks pluged

Your not gonna luck out that easily. Sounds like your getting blow-by past the valves. Might be time for a rebuild. I'd change the oil/oil filter and put fresh gas in and see what happens. Still getting white smoke, then its probably time to check valve adjustments, valve seats/seals/guides etc.

avoiding the inlaws... sometimes I wish i could do that. It might be worth a rebuild in my opinion.

Yeah, I am going to say its probably not going be just the valves being out of adjustment...its probably the valve guides or something else along those lines.

well im stumped pulled plug no oil on it maybe wasint burnin enought to show. checked valves and adjusted them . so i did compression check it was at 120 dont know if thats good then did a leak down on it held pressure no air escaping noises. so i started it up and took for a spin no smoke. so i did a oil and filter change just to make sure also cleaned air filter i gess ill just ride till it starts smoking again . maybe it was just hot and i was seeing things.

It may be that you just had some water in the oil or had something funny going on with the fuel. You never really do know until you cover the basics such as valve adjustments/oil change etc as you said you have done. The best thing to do now is just ride it some and not be too hard on it but keep an eye on the exhaust.

I'd say that after 2-3 hours of decent riding from now and you still don't see any white smoke it would be safe to give it some hell. Just keep an eye on oil levels and see if you notice any oddities in the consistency or color of the oil when checking.
