Default 05 Grizzly 660 Carb Help!

Hi,

I have been riding my Grizzly occasionally and its been stuttering and sputtering and many times I have had to have it at full choke for quite some time and later moving it the mid choke. Yesterday I had my fill out it and decided to take the carb off. I did good until I got to the part where there is a cover with three small screws and inside is the end of the throttle cable. Well I looked at my manual and it appeared you needed to remove the two allen screws, but it didn;t work well so I finally got the little brass piece off, but the spring piece in there appears to have lost its tension. When I press the throttle there is no tension is is just loose. I have tried to move the spring and once got it to where it seemed it might work, but it was a no go. I am getting irritated and am about ready to go buy a new Edelbrock carb. I need help with the spring and also would the dity carb cause the sputtering and clonking out? I used this to plow and we just got a ton of snow. I did notice the previous owner jb welded the bottom of the float bowl. Is the spring part solveable or do I need to go to the Yamaha Dealer? I am sure the wait would be two weeks. I can't afford to wait that long. Please help!
