Default No Power to rear axle on a Wolvy?

I have a 1998 Wolvy and I have power to the front wheels but none to the back. It clunked a few times and now no power. I check the u-joints and they are solid and the yoke out of the back of the motor is turning. Could the axle shaft be Striped or do I have issues in the diff?

Jack it up, and see if your wheels spin freely. Maybe something bound up and broke in your diff.

When I did that I can spin the rear wheels and it sounds like it is clicking. Also when I spin the rear wheels the the front of the dirve shaft isn't turning. I am going to have to tear it down and go from there. Is it possible to strip the axle spline?
