Just got my New 2009 Yamaha Grizzly 700 w/ EPS home
I just got my Grizzly home...When I got it from the dealer they didnt go over anything with me. I asked one question and thats all they seemed to want to answer. The wheeler itself was dirty as hell...must have been in the show room lots of scuffs and dirt on the floor board and stuff..no big deal i guess..just thought it would be nice for at least a minute when i picked it up. There are no miles on the machine..which i did check because of the condition. The price was the best around and traveled another 60 miles because the deal was right. Its pouring here today so I didnt do much with the wheeler.. My only impression was that the power steering was not nearly as good as the Polaris I had a demo on not to long ago...my first impression (compared to the Polaris) was that it didnt evan have EPS...but I have taken it off the trailer and into the garage...maybe my first impression will be wrong..the Polaris EPS was amazing..this wheeler didnt seem to evan have it..but again i have moved it 25 ft into my garage. Im sure I will like the wheeler..I will report in tommorow to let you know what I think after I play with it a little

The Yamaha unit does not work as good as the Polaris ones sitting still but while moving IMHO the Yamaha one has a better overall user friendliness setting (design)! The Yamaha steering unit also does not seem to have as many technical issues as the Polaris unit! Both work well in there own ways and I would not own either one without it!

I rode the Polaris before I purchased my new Grizzly a few weeks ago as well. Polaris advertises it has 30% more assist. I liked the 850xp at the lower speeds but it is too twitchy at higher speeds. The Grizzly has more assist at lower speeds and less at higher speeds. I think it is just right. If you don't think there is much assist with the Grizzly ride another machine without power steering and it will surprise you.

I rode my buddies 700 Grizzly with power steering and I though I was driving on black ice because the steering felt so loose on the gravel road. My 850 doesn't have power steering and I'm used to it being very stable and solid in the corners. I would think it is just one of those get used to it with time things. The Yamaha was a very nice machine.
