Question BearTracker starter problem!

I have a Yamaha BearTracker the green neutral light doesn’t come on when I turn the key to on. The electric start will not work, but I can pull start it. If I rev the engine the light flickers and sometime stays on. When on, I can then turn off machine and the electric start works. It has a new ignition button and battery. What is wrong and how can I fix!!!

seems like maybe a bad ground or frayed/corroded wires or something, trace the wires down and make sure there ok, there might also be a fuse blown somewhere, im not sure what fuses those bikes have.

Question

I thought it might be a wire too. The fuse is good and I couldn't find a loose wire. Do you know which wire i should look at closer?

Hope you have your problem fixed by now. I have a 250 timberwolf doing the same exact thing. It wasn't working at all but i replaced the wiring harness and it works like yours compared to not working at all before wiring harness swap. I believe it has to do with the kind of wire yamaha uses for the neutral switch. its one of those you have to be very gentle with or it breaks....bend it to many times and snap...follow the wires that go directly to the switches on the motor and you should see your culprit. if anyone knows a good replacement for this wire connector to the neutral switch please help us out. it fits over a round pin on the switch i believe and don't know where to start looking for one.
