Default Kodiak 400 fan problem

I have a 2004 Kodiak 400 4x4 auto. I was riding yesterday and early in the ride I heard the fan kick on and run for a few minutes and then kick back off. I didn't hear it run for the rest of the ride but we were moving at higher speeds and air was moving through the radiator. At the end of the ride we were sitting waiting for people to get winched out of mud and my temperature light came on. I was surprised it came on when my fan didn't kick on. After I cleaned my quad today I let it sit for about 45 minutes at idle and again the temperature light came on. I unplugged the fan from the wires coming out of the harness and checked the harness end for power (while the temp light was on so it was hot enough to signal the fan) and there was none. I checked all the fuses under the seat (none of which appear to control the fan) just to make sure and they were all fine. Are there fuses somewhere else? Is there a relay? Does anybody have a repair manual that shows the wiring diagram for this? Any ideas at all?

Thanks, Mud Slinger
