Default 2001 blaster

Hello I just purchased a 01 blaster 200 for my son the atv is in really good shape bought off original owner said everthing is stock. It runs really good and has alot more power than i expected. This is my first yamaha i hear good things and bad things about the blaster i would like to know if there is anything i should look for or any special maintenance that should be done on the blaster also being it is a 2 stroke it has a tank where you put the oil and it mix's with the gas that is a concern of mine that injection may fail would rather pre mix gas and oil does anyone know if there is any problems with this oil injection system.Any and all info on the 01 200 blaster would be appreciated.

You hit it. the injection system has been known to fail. You can buy the "block off kit". It allows you to remove the pump. other than that pretty solid little machines.

yea when taken care of and cleaned sometimes the injection can be ok but its just best to toss it....2 strokes are meant to be pre-mixed, runs better and you can have peace of mind knowing you did it right and that it cant fail, theres block off kits that block that off completely but i think you can just disable it and have the tank empty and lines unhooked and mix your fuel, not sure,

Yea the blaster, in my opinion, is a solid machine! I've raced them trail rode them crashed them into trees... the ground on some doubles and they continue to run like champs! However as everyone else said the injection pump on both mine broke. Which was fine with me because then I was able to bore them over, however to correct this problem I was feeling pretty cheap. So all I did was pull the injection pump off, pull the gear out of it, re attach it, cut the lines and plug them up good and no problems at all and no costs! Good luck I use a 32:1 mixture now.
