k&n jet kit on warrior problems with no lid on air box
#1
I just put a k&n jet kit in my 2000 warrior and it runs real good with the 136 main, with the air box lid on. So i wanted to see what would happen if i took the lid off. first i rejetted to the 148 per instructions and left the lid off (p.s. i have done a mod to attatch the k&n fliter to tube that goes to the carb so the fliter dose stay in place and no leaks) now it runs realy bad from 1/4 to 3/4 open and then only starts to run smooth. i think ths means that i need to move the clip position, right??? i cant even get a good enough run to pull the plug because it dies after only a few hundred feet. i went through all the steps to get it to work with air box lid on but then the jetting was very close to start with. but with it off it just wants to spit and sputter then die if i just leave it wide open i can only keep in running if i feather it untill i get some speed. it will idel just fine and if it dosent die and i let off it will return to idle.
please help(sorry if its hard to read)

if i were you i would put the lid back on and drill 6 1" inch holes in the lid. i have the k&n
set up with dmc full exhaust.there is not much
difference running with the lid off.your power
gains are very low on the warrior.if you want more power buy a raptor and you will have all you need!!!!!

cb2000Warrior, the stock main jet is a 145. I don't know what the folks at K&N were thinking when they told you to install a 136. It will run WAY lean like that.
I have a K&N filter setup just like yours, and I use a 155 main jet at 2500 feet. I left the pilot jet alone, and the same goes for the needle clip. So far, no problems.
