Brand New Banshee. Fair price??
#1
Hey guys, this is my first post. I moved to a **** small town in New Mexico. I was looking around down town at the local quad dealerships and stumbled upon a BRAND NEW 2005 Banshee 350 twin for sale at a dealership. The guy said they have had it forever and nobody wanted it. No **** this thing bone stock, brand new never ridden, just sitting on the floor in the back. They want around 5000 for it. In all the excitement I really don't remember the exact price.
What do you think would be a fair price for this thing? I really want it. The salesman was off on a doctors appt. so there was nobody to ask about it.

In 2005 it was 6299. Book value on it now is about 3500. May be worth a little more, but not much. They can ask all they want for it, but if you want a bank to give you money, loan value is all they will do.
I'd say 3k cash, or keep it. Ask them how much they've made of it so far.

It was more than likely assembled in 2004, making it 6 years old. Lots of parts just sitting for that long may make it look nice, but unless they're willing to give me the "brand new" warranty, and stand by it, it's old.
I'd ask them how they feel about paying another years inventory tax on it. Regardless of what they want to tell you, they have not made any money by it just sitting there. Ask to talk to the owner and see how he feels about keeping it.

I called the place, and talked to an old lady. She most likely was part owner. She said it had a bunch of after market stuff. All kinds of suspension guards, oversize grab bars, blah blah. It actually books at 3100, 3200 for the SE. Said it would come with full warrenty. I told her it booked for 3500 and she didn't believe me. Then she said "well we eint sellin it for that, guess we'll just drag it out and put Christmas lights on it." I will go in there when I get home from my trip. I'll take your advice and try to find the owner, if that wasn't her. I really need to figure a way to get them to come off this thing for a resonable price. Any more ideas???

well with those aftermarket parts it actually makes it worth less money, because of taking it away from its original state, specially being 6 years old and just sitting around, print off the page saying what it books for and talk to the owner about it and show him the book price and try to negotiate something, if they still act dumb then just say have fun paying the money to keep it around when nobody is gonna buy it for that price.
