I have been thinking about getting this carrier for my Raptor...guy down the block has it and he loves it. I used it to go and pick up my raptor when it came in. I know a trailer would be better but big money and you have to register it, store it....
what do you guys think http://www.BDIracks.com/atvmain.html

I am in the same situation also. A trailer would be nice, but the added hasle of license-insurance-title-etc-etc is a definate turn off. Also, a devise that attaches to the pack of the truck would apply a lot of weight on the back of the truck. I have an S10 pickup and an atv is a pain driving up the ramp and over the wheel wells (I have a worse attitude about this procedure after wearing a 400ex, Banshee, and now the Raptor). A double-edged sword......what'cha 'gonna do?

I don't see how one of those would hold up. A Class III trailer hitch is rated at a tongue weight of 500lb at the hitch. Putting on a 400lb quad onto the carrier would far exceed that if you figure in what the leveraged weight would be. Most of your weight would be leveraged due to the carrier sticking out the back.

Anyone used one very much?

I have a Carson Trailer from California. 14x7 single axle for $730. The $250 hitch item just didn't stike me as being sturdy enough, plus the 500lb toung weight issue worried me. Also, you would be worried the whole time that your $$$atv would fly off. Also, the trailer gives you a flat clean work space when in the dunes or dirt.

This topic came up when I finally got the green light from the wife to go buy a Raptor. I agree the storage of a trailer can be a pain but what I was able to talk the wife into just knocked my socks off. I talked her into an enclosed 5x8 cargo trailer. Now I store all my goodies inside the trailer. Yes, I have insurance on the Raptor and the trailer. The wife's happy because the quad isn't in the garage.

Nice work BlueRap! My $9,000 Raptor and trailer are in my garage and my $35,000 truck is in the dam street.
