Default flashing rev light?

I have a 06 wolverine 450. When you start it up the reverse light flashes on and off. I have been told it the neutral safety switch. Anyone have any ideas. Is this indeed a neutral safety switch problem? And if it is a the switch where is that switch located? Thanks In advance.

Speedometer work? If the speedometer cable breaks, the rev light will flash because the engine senses that it is revving high but not moving. This also happens when you start it and leave the choke on causing it to rev high for a few minutes.

On the Big Bear, the reverse light flashes like that when the quad senses that the engine is running at higher RPMs than the speed at which it is moving. Mine was result of the speedo cable being broken. Quad sensed that it was not moving b/c speedo was sitting on 0, but engine was reving and going through gears. New 25 dollars speedo cable and has not been an issue again.

Default Help!!!!!

I took my 08 400 Big Bear to the dealership because the reverse light was blinking. They said it's the speed sensor and it's going to cost $255.00. I called another dealership and they said that this model doesn't even have a speed sensor. I've looked for it online with no luck. All I can figure is that they meant the speedometer is bad. But mine seems to still work ok. I did replace the cable. Can you please help me.!!!

The quad (in my opinion for what that counts) has a speed sensor of some sort...the reverse light flashes when the quad thinks that he motor is going faster than the speedometer is showing it is going. I only see mine flashing a couple times 1. When the choke is left on too long and the engine idles too fast while warming up 2. The speedo cable was broken and the engine was racing, but the quad was sensing that it wasn't moving 3. I also saw it come on when I was in diff lock and the engine was going fast enough that I needed to use the rev override button...I would get another opinion from another dealer. I am in Ohio and deal with Clinton County Motorsports...937-283-2220...I would call and ask for Dave the owner. Even if you are not local, you can at least tell them what it is doing and try to get some info back (I would put this dealer against any)...worth the phone call

Good Luck,
Keep us posted

I believe the 350 and 400s have the speed sensor in with the speedo but it is supposed to be a replaceable part so you shouldn't need a new display.

The 06 wolvy speed sensor is located on the left side under the side plastics above your oil check/fill. Besides what was mentioned already above you can have the light flash when your switch gets wet or muddy, I am talking about your switch with the starter, override and kill button on it.
