Crazy thought....could I not just drill and tap my own drain screw and thread a bolt in it? The manual says the required amount of oil so as long as I get all the old out I should be able to fill it up based on that. My only concern would be drilling right through and hitting something but if I go slow I don't see a problem...thoughts?

You dont want an y bits of metal in there, I would take it to your nearest shop and have them take it out.

take it to an exhaust shop and get them to weld a nut to the drain and fill plugs. If you take them out right after they are welded on the heat from the welding helps get them out. I would recommend that you buy new plugs to go back in
