Love the IRS idea....but that would have to add a BUNCH of weight to a Sport 4x4. I say we do it anyways. lol

The Scrambler and the Wolverine were the only 2 bikes I seriously considered when I was in the market for a new quad. Obviously I went with the Scram but I had to think about it for quite a while.

I realize the bike I want would cost a bit more but I think the manufacturers would like that. Look how much they are getting now for new bikes (Raptor, Rubicon, FX400, Prairie 650 etc.). Everything we want on this bike is already being produced by all manufactures. I just need it to be combined in 1 bike. What a bike it could be.

If Yamaha came out with a Raptor powered Sport 4x4 I would write a check faster than you can spit! Yes, it will be a bit front heavy, but as long as they use top grade parts that are over-engineered like Bombardier does w/their bikes I will live with it. (say what you want about the weight, Bombardier builds some tough stuff). If they can't get a Sport 4x4 in the 400-430lb range, I say forget it. My Scram will do just fine.

Umm, I had a point I was trying to make but forgot it.......sheesh. Oh well, I will just have to console myself by riding tomorrow for about 12 hours. Had to sell my soul to get a baby sitter (grandparents) but it wasn't much of a soul to begin with.

Regards,

The wolverine has to be one of the most dependable atvs ever. I am 15 i proably ride it harder then most people would belive. Once you get rid of the tires ur set to go. I been riding it hard for 2 years and havnt had any proablems. When i jump it doesnt seem nose heavy to me. I'll hit the jumps in 3/4 gear at about 1/2 to 3/4 throttle then gas it as i am lunchinf of the jump. Then i lean back and pull up on the bars and the front end stays up fine. Even tho it if a full time 4x4 i can still slide around corners, You just need skill to do that.
I am 100% satisfied with my purchues. And for woods riding i couldnt ask for more power. I am only selling my wolverine for a 250r since i out grown it and man handle it now.

If that's true then I think it's too bad Yamaha had to bow to the market demand for useless gimmicks.
What the Wolverine need is a displacement increase, a lager capacity oil cooler, aluminum wheels and a six speed tranny.

If you've ever ridden a quad with a 2 and 4 wheel option you;d soon agree its a great option and lets you have a whole different quad ride.It was the biggest reason for selling my Wolverine.

We've been through this a dozen times or so, but anyway;
I wouldn't NOT buy a quad because it had part-time 4wd, BUT, given the choice, I'd much rather have other improvements made first.
2wd will not help me;
go faster,
handle better,
go more places,
climb bigger hills,
accelerate faster.

Other improvements, such as increased displacement, a 6 speed tranny and aluminum wheels would do all of those things.

I'll admit that sliding the rear end looks cool and all, but I still think it's cooler to be in front.

If the wolverine had selectible 4wd 400 or more cc and a 6 speed with manual clutch I would buy one tomorrow For now I'll wait and see what happens.
