can anyoneplease tell me how to remove a back axle on a 97 blaster does the sprocket thread off? anything else i should know? thanks for your help
I would recommend a 50/50 solution of ATF (yeah,... Automatic Transmission Fluid) and acetone,.... It will beat any penetrant you can buy, by at least double the ability (Usually 60% or better penetration and lubrication on "stuck" stuff) the concoction will separate when left standing as it doesn't combine on a molecular level..... It's more of an emulsion. Mix it up by shaking it thoroughly and spray or pour it onto the rusty connection and let it sit for about an hour (Get it really wet). Then protect the axle end threads and knock the axle through the sprocket hub. This is assuming you have already removed the two jam nuts from the axle also. generally speaking, I use a heavy piece of thick wood and "drop" the axle left end onto it from about a foot in the air,.... guiding the assembly to make sure it hits where i want it, and doesn't damage the axle end. This can take some time, so be patient.
Likelihood is, the sprocket hub is not the only stuck part. I suspect the bearing and spacers in the rear axle hub are corroded onto the axle also. Still saturate the whole hub in the above concoction and give it some time to do it's stuff.... You'll be fine.
