2001 wolverine reverse problems
#1
hi i have a 2001 yamaha wolverine 4x4. i live in western new york and this past winter was pretty harsh on my quad as i use it to plow my drive way. i got stuck a lot and had to rock it back and forth quit a few times and i belive i messed up the revers gear. it has the reverse *** to turn, it will try to engage but it wont move and it makes a very loud grinding sound. i tried to adjust the cable to the motor tranny but same thing happens. however it still goes through all forward gears very well , exept i have noticed that since i lost my reverse i can really fire through my gears it is so much more faster accelerating. any thoughts of my issue, what to do/try and would it be a costly fix as i have never had to put money into any kind of repaires guess ive been luck so far till now lol.. thankyou for takeing the time to read/respond...

im sure i did to keep the rpms up i would lift up into first gear and throttle it up n let go and would do the same for reverse but only reverse is bad. not a smart thing to do i know that, but it is what it is lol. ive been riding for over 20 years been stuck to many time to remember but never had this happen
