Default Lube

Hi, I haven't cleaned the stock foam air filter on my Raptor 350 for 2 years now, because we don't have any air filter oil around in my small country. But now I'm planning to do it, because I see it has dried out in the edges, and there are chunks in the middle. So, can someone tell me any oil I can use to lube it, and how?

Very cool place to live! Right between iceland and Norway. I would think that engine oil would work better than nothing at all. Just sprinkle a little bit and work it in with your hands. A little goes a long way.

Your probably aware that you should wash it out in warm soapy water, rinse, wring it out and let it dry then any kind of engine oil will do. Don't over do it and maybe wring that oil out a little too. In fact I've never heard of air filter oil specifically.

You can buy cleaners or use soap and water, try to keep the water flow from the carb side to the out side so your are washing dirt out and not into the filter. Yamaha sells oil for filters. It may seem expensive but you don't use very much. You want a sticky oil but one made for your filter material. I used kn oil on my stock filter and found it restricted my air flow. Got some yama filter oil and it runs less lean now. If you use a motor oil make sure you keep an eye on the spark plug colour! Put the filter and oil into a plastic bag and work it in good. It don't take very much. If you do over oil you will notice oil in the air box in the future so don't panic if u see that lol.
This is jmo
Happy rides!
