Raptor stalling in reverse.
#1
I got stuck in the snow pretty good, put it into reverse and tried to back out. The quad pulled hard for 3 seconds and then stalled. I started it up and the same thing happened again. After getting it out I went to a flat piece of road and put it into reverse and it did the same thing, 3 seconds/stall. Sometimes it would not stall all the way out and I would get another 3 seconds before the stall. I put it on the work stand and it did it again. The stall feels like the ignition was turned off for a second and then turned back on.
I had a Honda 300 and the reverse had a governor on it but acted totally different. Does the Raptor have a reverse limiter or something like that?
Please let me know if you have had similar problems or a soulition.
Thanks

According to the 2001 yamaha tech update manual the raptor is equipt with a rev limiter for reverse this allows you to back up, up to 12mph then it will stall the motor until it drops below 12 miles per hour. After you get below 12 mph the motor will run like normal. This rev limiter will stall the motor for aprox. 2 seconds before returning to normal then 2second of acceleration the 2 seconds of miss and so forth.
