Hello Folks,

Being a Polaris guy, I'm starting to have a problem hangin with my buddys on their 400EX's. Is a Raptor worth the cash? I want reverse and electric start. This seems like the only atv with the power and the toys I want. So anyway, I want a bitchin' trail bike and something to make my buddys envy. So what is everyones $.02? I might need to change my name to RippinRaptor!

Thanks!

The Raptor is well worth the money. It is simply the best ALL AROUND bike out. Note All around. It is awesome at everything. The 400$EX is awesome on the tracks and trails, the Banshee at hillshooting and drag racing, but only after mods b/ w/o at least pipes theyre not all that, the DS is only good for wide open spaces. The motor is awesome that is in the DS but as everyone one knows it would take alot of motor to move this huge bike. And then you got the Raptor, It is awesome at every single one of these catagories. Not the best at all them but some of them.

And dont listen to people crying about them not being reliable . Just b/ some people brake things doesnt mean they are all like that. I have been to three dealers thois past w/end and not one of them had one back for a warranty claim.

Glad to hear it. I already put $100 to reserve their next arrival. It's Black and White, so it should be pretty sweet! Should be in next week.

the raptor in my mind is worth the price,of course there is some things you can add to make it perform better but that is with every other brand also, I ride mine very hard and have yet to have any problems. You will love the bike.just my .02

In stock trim there is no other bike out on the market that gives you so much.... Don't rule out the DS650 though...It's big, bad, and fast!!!! Very well built and has plenty of after-market products in stock trim.

First thing to do is junk that polaris. I just replaced my 2000 400 Scrambler with a Raptor. The second thing to do is to widen the Raptor. You must do that as your first mod. even before a pipe.

From what I hear the DS650 plows a lot in the front. The Raptor out handles it big time. I already have the Raptor coming so I'll do something with my Polaris eventually. What is this about widening it out? Is this a rear axle change or a front A-Arm change? The guy at the dealership is putiing a 12 tooth on it. He said the stock 13 is to much gear for trail riding.

jad, Adding the biggun system and running the 150,155 mains that they recommended it was running rich so i added the proflow, cut out the flaps in the snorkel and drilled 6-1" holes in the lid and it is running right on now.
This past weekend at a mx track me and another guy with a raptor which had a e-series was racing with a 01-400ex several 125 dirt bikes from the starting gate for 1 lap then we would go back to the starting gate and do it again,I pulled the holeshot every time and the other raptor would be around 4th or 5th everytime, afterwards i had several people asking what i had done to it because it ran so good.
you want be disappointed in your decision to go with the biggun and proflow.
keep us posted on your improvments

Thanks for the info. What size are the stock sprockets and what kind of change did you notice?
