Default Grizzly belt?

what is the general rule for changing the drive belt on the 04 Griz 660. 1000 miles, 135 hr's, 8 yr's old.
I don't want it to brake in bfe, but I don't want to waist money either. Do I put a new belt on, or just put it under the seat and wait till she blow's up.
Also, is there a alternative to Yamaha dealer belt's. I hate getting anything from the 'stealership'. I good aftermarket belt, maybe napa or cycle gear?
thank's

I have a 2007 350 Grizzly with 3000 miles and my friend has a 660 Grizzly with 3500 miles and they both have the original belts. With 1000 miles i,d say your worring about it a few years early.
Since the belts last for years I don,t see the point in experimenting with a cheaper aftermarket belt.
I have changed the belt on my Polaris but for only $70 for a OEM belt I never bothered to find a aftermarket alternative.

Default Thank's

Just asking. I went to the King of the hammers 2 yrs. ago, and a rhino had the belt shred(same 660 engine), and that was really inconvenient to go to L.A and find a belt and tow the sucker back to camp.
Thank's for the input.
Rog out
