1984ish Yamaha 225dx ATC doesnt want to idle
So, I bought this bike in december for 244$ guy said runs great just missing all plastics.
I'm buyin plastics left and right on ebay before anything. I go on the first day to ride around up an down the road and around my yard, seemed a little slugish.
The next day, pull it in he garage and clean the carb. Then it was dumpin out gas from the bottom carb over flow. Called my local yamaha dealer for the float height and re adjusted the carb float. No more dumping fuel. Got a new plug and checked for spark (ok) then I take it up my street after a cold start, get to 4th gear and it starts puttin out. I get it back down to second and it dies, will not start, had to push it home. Get home try to start it, wouldn't start. The next day after work, starts first pull. So. Let it idle for about 10 mins, hopped on and as soon as I popped it to 1st (semi-auto) it dies. Replaced float needle valve and spark plug again. It seems like its not dying when it heats up anymore, just dying when it heats up and is idling. Had a pro come over to adjust fuel/air and idle screw and was fine for a few rides then it went back to not idling. Its an 84 (or85) YTM225DX three wheeler any suggestions on the not idle? I know its not a gas cap ad its too cold (20degrees) to be vaporizing fuel or some odd things I've heard.
