Default 1995 Yamaha Warrior 350 Starting Problems

Hello everybody,
I just bought a 95 warrior that had a bad battery. You could jump start it and it would start right up and runs great. It has a brand new starter and starter solenoid that the previous owner put on 2 weeks ago (Had receipts for them). So i put the new battery in and it doesn't turn over at all. It doesn't even spark. I checked the wiring to see if you can see bare wires or splices and that's all good. I checked the battery and its at full charge. I really have no idea what it could be. If you guys could give me any help at all I would really appreciate it.

I haven’t worked on a Warrior but most Yams have a fuse on the solenoid. If yours has, you can get the heavy leads the wrong way round. Check that the thick battery lead goes to the post marked B on the solenoid. If this is OK check the fuses and all the earth connections.

Ok so i went out and checked the solenoid and it is on the post marked B. The fuse looked good also. I checked the connections and cleaned them up before but i did it again and still nothing.

OK I’m a bit confused about the no spark reference, as it won’t spark if it won’t turn over. Where did you put the jump leads before fitting the new battery? If you put them on the old battery and everything worked before fitting the new battery are you sure you connected the new one negative to earth? If you just touched the positive jump lead to the starter “live” post to make it go, any faults in the “ignition” circuit would be bypassed. If the fault is in the ignition circuit you just have to go through it with a voltmeter or preferably a test lamp, start at the solenoid fuse, then the ignition switch, starter switch, kill switch, any “lockout” switches on brake levers or gearshift etc.

Check stator not starter but the stator, check out rickys stator, he is the best. I have replaced two in warriors, more than likely its gone because it is a no no to jump off a fourwheeler esp older ones, thats why the stator is bad.
