Default 2006 Yamaha Kodiak 400

I have some questions as I am new to the board. I wanted to buy this manual HAYNES 2567 YAMAHA KODIAK, but it states to 2005. Is there much of a difference from 05-06. Is this manual OK to buy?
I found 4 grease fittings on the back wheels and I know there are others, I hope a repair manual like the one mentioned will cover this. I am retired electrician and I use my Quad mostly for yard work. I think I have 100 hours on the machine. I change my oil and filter, air filter, but that is all I have done to it. Other then washing it and keeping it clean..
Any advice would be helpful..........Thanks..Pete

I would just pay $8 US and download this - https://www.tradebit.com/filedetail....pair-2003-2006 However, it appears it should be the same to answer your question about the years as it states there were only minor updates to the 2006 model. The Yamaha Service Manual will be far superior to any Hayes manual. I've never been that impressed with Haynes manuals I've had for older automobiles... unless they've gotten better over the years as it's been a while since I've looked at a Hayes manual.

BTW, my 2007 Grizzly 700 only has the 4 zerks too. There are no zerks on the front suspension.

For OEM Yamaha parts I generally shop at partshark.com or partzilla.com. There are a bunch online but usually find better pricing at these two. However, check each one carefully as one might have better part pricing but more expensive shipping.

Default problems

Well I went on line and I keep coming up with zero. I was able to change the air filter after I changed the oil and filter. However the air filter cage was messed up on the end. The plastic ring deteriorated so I need a new cage. Is there anyone can help me with this. I see there are upgrades and 62 bucks is a little high for a air filter. I do not know if it is a complete unit or not
I was able to slide a new filter sleeve over the cage but I need a new cage. The filter material kept catching onto the metal account of the plastic cap is gone
So this is top of the list
How many grease fittings on this Kodiak 400 is another question

I suppose I'm a little confused on the air cleaner information you posted. On partzilla.com under Yamaha OEM, 2006, Kodiak 400, Intake there are part numbers 10, 11 and 12 which should be the entire air filter, "cage" and end cap which add up to about $24 US before shipping. Is that not what you are looking for or are you looking for something aftermarket?

I do not know the answer about your Kodiak's grease fittings.

Post up some pics of your ride when you get it all up and working properly.
