Almost back in action

Talked to the dealer today. My raptor motor is back together. The mechanic said he noticed that reverse and second are momentarily engaged at the same time. So when you are going backwards and drop it into first, there is a possibility that there can be multiple gears engaging at the same time (CRUNCH) He told me to make shure to stop completely before shifting into first, and make shure first is engaged all the way. This and the harder gear should eliminate anymore explosions in the tranny........Time will tell.
By the way, the parts would have cost about 4000.00 if not for warranty. My warranty passed while it was in the shop.

That is so weird!! I just got my raptor out of the shop for the same thing, tranny explosion. I jumped a triple and cased it and when I did it stopped running and wouldn't crank so I took it to the yamaha dealer. They said second gear was torn out so there it sat for 8 weeks to get fixed. So just about a week ago I got it back. It dont run as good as it used to, but i think it just needs broke in. My warranty ran out when mine was there too.

Thats what im afraid of, they replaced everything but the outer cases and the head. I got a weird feeling deep inside, its not going to be the same.
Did you get the new gear, what else did they replace?

Scary -- I'm starting to wish I purchased the extended warranty for $500-600 now.
$4000.00 in parts, WOW...
I hope this is just a few cases or because you guys are very agressive riders.
Glad Warranty covered for you!
