1996 300 king quad...cleaned carb and pump...idle is very high....goes higher when i put choke on...any suggestions

 

is your cable adjusted too short and is not letting the venture close all the way? and is your air fuel mixture screw set to correct bench settings after you cleaned it?

 

ya thanks for the reply.....idle jet was plugged....cleaned the carb thoroughly again and turned down the idle screw....the thing fires up and runs like brand new....pain in the *** to work on this quad, but I love it.....

have to figure out why the float needle wont seal ...the carb is flooding out when i leave it for a while....

ya ...was thinking about that as well but weather is setting in up here in ontario and i dont have a heated shop so i slapped it back together on the last warm day (-5) we had here....in hopes of getting to it in the spring....i put a fuel shut off just before the carb...should do the trick for now.....
