Kodiak overheating
#1
Hey guys,
New to the forum. I recently purchased an old '93 Kodiak 400, need a lot of work. It was running fine in the spring, but now that it is warmer out it has began to overheat. It has a oil cooler rad at the front, but no fan. Is this normal? Anything else that could cause it to overheat? It has new oil, filter was just changed this spring. I use it for checking cows, so no trail blazing or hard driving.
Thanks for your time!

Could be running a bit "weak" due to a partly blocked carb, may be worth cleaning the jets out. I assume you have made sure the oil cooler is clean, all too easy for the fins to get clogged with mud on a farm. The parts book shows a fan, but it may not have been fitted on all models. https://www.yamahapart.com/oemparts/...0a0a796/blower
