You are about at the end of testing, like I wrote above, time to either start substituting things or call on the Yam dealer.

If the earth is OK to the solenoid but the positive isn't, neg will feed round the system through the solenoid windings. Trace that positive wire back.[/QUOTE]

Not sure where earth to the solenoid is supposed to come from on this anyone else know? Or do you mean goes to earth when pressing the start button? And all 3 wires which are red and blue/black and blue/ white going to solenoid show hot all the time until you press start button then blue/black and blue/white show ground.

Yes, can be a negative start button. Most designers use a pos wire from the ignition switch to feed the start button, and have a neg wire feeding the other thin solenoid wire, but some do it the other way round, feeding a pos from the ignition direct to the solenoid and a neg to the start button.

At the starting circuit cut off relay there is 2 red/white words that go in a slot together and 1 red/white wore in a slot a blue/white wire in a slot and a yellow/black wire in a slot all of these are hot until you press start button except blue/white it’s the only one that loses power.

Yes, from the drawing, negative start button. Also note that wire from start button doesn't just feed the solenoid, disappears off the bit of drawing you show.

Is the starting circuit cut off relay (8) clicking in when you engage neutral? Looks like it will be fed neg from CDI when the bike is in neutral, and pos from ignition fuse.

Thanks merryman I’ll have to look and see where it feeds on to. No the relay doesn’t click at all when doing anything unless I take it off and test it so I know it’s good. Or atleast it test good.
