Default Moto 4 gas line

Hi all I have a moto 4 that has been sitting for a couple years. I am going through it to get it running and take on a hunting trip. Anyway there is a gas port coming off of the bottom of the carb . I am guessing that there is supposed to be a gas line hooked onto this and ran somewhere. I can't find another port to plug it into. When I try to fill the tank with gas it runs out that port so I don't think it is a vacuum line. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

It is the drain for the float bowl. It also acts as an overflow, if the float needle sticks, fuel flows out of it. There should be a bit of tube hanging down from it, so fuel doesn't drip onto a hot engine, many bikes have lost the tube. So, either the drain screw on the bottom of the float bowl is open or your float needle is stuck open.

My first "trick" is to turn the tap off, run the engine until it stalls from lack of fuel, then turn the tap back on, A good rush of fuel may dislodge whatever is stuck under the needle. If that doesn't work then yes, remove float bowl and needle, clean the seat. Also check the tiny plunger on the other end of the needle, if this sticks it will cause flooding. A new needle is the cure for that.
