Default 2003 Yamaha Blaster won’t idle

New to the forum and riding for that matter. I have a 2003 blaster that will not idle. I cleaned the (stock) carb and seems to be worse. The main and pilot jets are clean. New spark plug. Runs fine but will not idle. Thought it may be the jets. I have a #220 main and a 32.5 pilot. Idle screw on carb or tors has no effect. I have an FMF exhaust no filter (putting one on(in the mail)) closed box, Elevation 729. Any suggestion would be great.

You should wait to get a filter back on the quad before adjusting. Then start with a base starting point and decide if your gonna run with airbox lid on or off. There will be a big difference in the main jet between lid on or off.

what should I consider when deciding. What does removing the lid do for the air flow.

Any time the intake or exhaust is changed on a two stroke the jetting in the carb needs changed as well. Any mods xhange the fuel/air mixture so jets are changed to make up the difference. Removing the airbox cover will cause a lean condition, can cause overheating, and burn the piston. Never just clean the carb, get a quality rebuild kit with new gaskets and needle/seat combo. The kit also has adjustments needed to set carb to correct secs

First you need the air filter on, According to FMF you need a 260 main jet, take rubber snorkel off airbox lid ,32.5 pilot 1.5 turns out from lightly seated air screw.

Did you figure anything out after you put the air filter back on?
