Grizzly not going into reverse

Thall320578 (whoever you are) thank you....
Took the fuel tank cover off and wiggled the gear lever to see what moved and, bingo, straight into reverse!
I couldn't see anything in the cover that could have been the problem but I did notice a few leaves in the mechanism area. I blew the area out and gave it good wash in WD40. Cover back on and good as gold.
Best guess is there was debris in the mechanism which was dislodged when I removed the tank cover.
i was pretty desperate to get the repair done today because its 42c here tomorrow and the workshop will not be the place to be.
