07 grizzly 450 rear pinion yoke
hey guys, installed new rear diff in 07 grizz 450. I installed retainer nut and seal and slid in yoke. all fits and turns smoothly.
when i tighten down that pinion nut, the yoke gets harder to turn. if i torque that thing to 70 it is hard to turn. should that yoke be that hard to turn?
or should i back out the nut.

Tap the pinion ends with a soft hammer or drift once you have it fully torqued, it often needs a shock to fully seat the bearings. I used to build truck diffs at a factory and some were set so they were hard to turn, we had a spring balance and lever to check the pre-load torque required to move it, was correct, but they were taper bearings and I'm fairly sure the Yam set up is supposed to be free running.
