Default Timberwolf 250 2wd centrifugal clutch

Ordered a new centrifugal clutch for my timberwolf 250 2wd today because it slips when I give it hard throttle on 2nd, 3rd , 4th, etc....any tips or tricks for the job...thanks in advance

Make sure it isn't the multiplate clutch that is slipping, very bad to tell which it is without a stripdown. Centrifugal should be obvious, as they work fine until the shoes wear down to the metal at one end, then they slip. Multiplates need stripping and plate thickness checking with a micrometer. Even if OK, lightly rough the plates with emery before refitting them. Nut for centrifugal clutch is often a LH thread, can't remember if the 250 Yam is or not. The one way clutch in the centre has to go in the right way round, some only fit one way but others can be wrongly fitted. Best to get a workshop manual anyway, as it gives thickness measurements for the plates etc.
